I work primarily from my broadcast-quality, professional home studio in Hampshire, an hour South of London. Or if you prefer, I can travel to your studios locally, in London or elsewhere in the UK.
FAQs

I offer voiceover services across a variety of genres; from animations, commercials, branded content such as imaging and promotions on tv and radio, to e-Learning courses, corporate narrations, medical explainers, product videos, documentary narration and Telephony/IVR. I also work at live events as an announcer, otherwise referred to as ‘The Voice of God’ and present on the radio when I can!

Every client has unique requirements and every job is different. With this in mind, I provide quotes on a project-by-project basis according to the recording and editing time and the intended usage of the audio. However, I am a proud member of Equity, the UK’s Actor’s Union and as a general rule I charge based on their recommended rates.

The audiology booth was made by Eckel, used for the purpose of hearing tests in hospitals and I have re-purposed it using acoustic foam for sound-proof recordings. The star of the show is my Sontronics Orpheus condenser microphone. My chosen recording/editing software is Adobe Audition and I connect with my clients using Source-Connect Standard, Clean Feed, Session-Link, Zoom, Google Meet or Skype.

The nature of the Voiceover industry is fast-paced and I know that most of my clients are working to tight deadlines. I work Monday - Friday apart from UK bank holidays and always deliver audio within 48 hours, usually the same day unless the project is particularly time consuming.
-
More often than not, I deliver my audio as a raw .wav file, with very little editing/processing applied apart from cleaning up mistakes or removing breaths. This allows the client the freedom to alter the recordings themselves. However, if you require further editing or prefer an .mp3 file, this can be arranged. If extensive editing is required however, this service will need to be acquired from a third party.

I try to give my clients as much notice as possible if I am going away for a prolonged period. I often travel to the South of France as my parents live there, however my mum, Della Phillips is also a professional voiceover artist and she kindly shares her studio with me when I visit. If I am travelling elsewhere on holiday I do try to work less than usual (we all need our free time) but I usually take a travel set-up with me in case anything urgent comes in. I am also a regular festival attendee (Download Festival in June is my favourite) and as much as I wish I could record from a tent, that is the one time of year when I absolutely will not be able to deliver audio! I take time off on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but tend to work around that time if I am needed (although, most of my clients are probably too busy eating cheese and making mulled wine)!

I do! I have been represented by Nordlings (formerly Excellent Talent) for several years now and they are amazing to work with. Check out my page on their website https://www.nordlingstalent.com/artists/voiceover/abi-phillips/
If I’m not quite the right fit for your project, maybe one of my talented pals will be!

Della Phillips
Mum is an award-winning voiceover artist with extensive experience that expands across many genres of voiceover, having worked from her home studio full-time for 20 years. Being a real-life mother/daughter duo has meant that working together on various projects has come naturally and we relish the opportunity to do so. She’d like me to tell you that she taught me everything I know… and honestly, she helped me to find myself in this industry. She’s my biggest cheerleader, a fiercely strong woman and an undeniable talent.

Kenny Blyth
Having worked in Radio Drama at the BBC in London, often playing multiple roles in a single production, Kenny has a rare versatility in age, characters and accents (nearly 30 to date) which makes him one of the most sought after British voices in the industry. He works worldwide across TV & film, theatre, radio, animation, games, commercials, documentaries, audiobooks and coordinates/voices ADR for Scottish TV and film, namely; Shetland, Guilt, Vigil, Outlander. I have known Kenny personally and professionally for many years and confidently recommend him to strengthen any project.

Janine Cooper-Marshall
If you’re after an FVO with 20+ years industry experience and a distinctive, clear, warm and engaging Welsh lilt, you want Janine. Her voice can be heard across radio, TV & in-store commercials, explainers, audiobooks, video games and more. And - if you’ve ever travelled on the Great Western Railways Network, Janine’s comforting vocals will have guided you on your journey.
-

James Miller
I have been fortunate to team-up with James on countless double-header radio commercials over the years and his raw talent speaks for itself. Although often considered to have a ‘neutral British accent’ his soft, midlands twang makes him the perfect choice for a trustworthy, grounded, conversational read.

Camile Murdock
As well as being a brilliant and versatile voiceover artist, Camile has an infectious energy and enthusiasm that shines through her performance and makes her a breath of fresh air for clients and colleagues alike. Her delivery has an honesty to it that is hard to come by which, when applied to commercials, adds an essential relatability for your audience.

Jack Oddie
With a background in script writing for various brands within Bauer Media Group, Jack has a unique flare for understanding scripts and brings them to life in a way only a wonderfully warm and witty Northerner can. He’s multi award-winning, vastly talented and one of the soundest blokes you could wish to meet.
